Where Do We Go from Here?
So, life after 50 ain’t so bad! Really, it's not!!! I actually had that crazy question asked of me, “How does 50 feel?” I simply stated that it really doesn’t feel any different than 49. And it doesn’t!
So we've had a couple of major events happen since my first entry. Those events being the 19th anniversary of 9/11, the California, Washington State, and Oregon fires, and some major storms in the gulf. I’ll get to 9/11 in a few, but I wanted to take a minute and say that I am praying for you guys that are being affected by the fires and storms. I can’t imagine how that must feel but I can pray that you are kept safe and that you are only made stronger by going through it. May God bring you and your families peace and understanding in the midst of your storm.
The anniversary of 9/11 always makes me step back and reflect on what that experience means to me and how far we as a country have come since then. Even amongst all this partisan bickering, I believe that we still have the strength to respond just as resilent and maybe even better than we did on that day and the weeks following. We, as a country, learned a lot about ourselves after that horrific tradegy, and we're better for it. There were no blue states, or red states, or Republicans and Democrats, or racial devides. There were just human beings, caring for one another. True partnership, if you will. And for one day, we had a small window away from the arguments on who is right and who is wrong when it comes to the leadership of this country.
So, where do we go from here? I wish I had the answer, but I do know where and what we should strive for! We should be striving for heaven! We should be attempting as hard as we can to follow in the steps of Jesus. We should Love each other as he loved and still loves us. UNCONDITIONALLY!!!
Until next time…
We are afflicted in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 CSB
