First Thoughts…

As I approach my 50th birthday, I asked myself what I wanted to accomplish with the remainder of my life. That’s a funny way to look at it I guess, but I really had this sudden awareness that this next amount of years might just be harder and less in number than the first 50. I suppose I would have to analyze what I accomplished during the first part of my life and see what I need to change or leave alone, but can I be fair and balanced or will I be biased. Well, if you know me, you know I can be fair, even with myself.

Work wise, I acquired an education. I worked for the Texas Dept. Of Criminal Justice and made it to the rank of Sergeant. I then worked for Cingular Wireless, who then bought out AT&T Wireless and became AT&T Mobility. I then worked for a Retirement Community as a Maintenance Supervisor, then worked a couple of short jobs until I started to work for a company called LineQuest as a Line Locator. It was then that I found what I really enjoyed doing with my life and through a contract with a Midstream Company that I came to what I am doing today.

Marriage wise, I was married to my first wife for approx. 2 years. Safe to say that we both neither knew what it meant to love each other and compromise at the same time. My second wife was a marriage of 10 years, in which we had 2 children (Dustin and Anna) and 6 months before we divorced she decided to tell me she thought she just wanted to go the rest of the way by herself. Really what she meant was her, the kids, not me, and perhaps by herself, or perhaps not, just not with me. We tried to make promises to change but it didn’t work and that was that. My marriage with Jessica is amazing! She is everything I have ever wanted in a woman. She makes me happy and our life together is exactly what a Marriage should be. Ups, downs, and compromise and understanding. That is what makes a real marriage! We have 3 Children (Parker, Piper, and Price)

I am giving those of you who care this info partly because you may not know this much about me, but also because I am creating this blog to share my life and stories within my life. This background info will make it easier to understand or at least help in the telling of those stories. But hopefully, I will be able to also show you what God has meant to me and how he has supported me along my journey. Without God in my life, I would not have made it this far, nor would I make it any further.

So, when I asked the question I stated above, I knew what I definitely wanted to do to start out. I have never been one to speak out Politically. Mainly due to the fact that I do not agree with a lot of my friends in automatically believing in one party or the other. I have a mindset of believing in what I think is best for all. In this day and age, people are getting worse at not being able to work together for the good of each other. Instead, people tend to work for what is best for them and forget everyone else. My prayer is simply this: I pray for people to start working with each other. I pray for people to love one another. I pray that we learn to not believe in everything we see and even less what we hear. I pray that we each seek out what is true and best for everyone. I pray that even though in this world there will never be total peace, that we strive for as close as we can get.

I know that this world is destined for a specific end that the Bible has foretold, so I know most of this can not become true, but I do know this…Not every Republican is right. Not every Democrat is right. Not every post on Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media site is always right. Please re-search before you re-post. Know that I say this because I love each and every one of you.

Please bear with me as I get started on what I hope will be a learning experience for both you and me.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

Until next time…
